Sunday Preview – July 14, 2024
Traditional Sunday | Why do we sing? Why do we prayer certain prayers, or structure the service in a specific way? The traditions of the church help shape how we tell the story of the gospel and can bring deeper meaning to many aspects of our faith. For some people, the traditions are a vital pathway for not only engaging their faith but experiencing God.
AND! We have a special musical treat for everyone. Dave Tidball (piano), Marnie Theiss (violin), and Kara Baldwin (handbells) will be playing two special pieces of music during the service!
This Sunday will also feature Communion.

Affordable Child Care Agenda
For those interested in supporting the Affordable Child Care Agenda, HERE is the link. You can become a citizen co-sponsor. Also, the map on this page shows the number of co-sponsors in each state.
* Although this agenda is proposed by Katherine Clark (Massachusetts Representative and Democratic Whip of the US House of Representatives), sharing this agenda is not an endorsement of a political party or a specific politician. Instead, this agenda supports policies that have the potential to bring equity to those who don’t have position or power.

Good Neighbor Meal – An Update
Update on meals at the Good Neighbor Center…
The Recovery Church has discontinued serving as a Good Neighbor Meal host. They served their last meal on May 25, 2024. The GNM will continue twice a month in June & July. Brennan & family are hosting June 8 & Shiloh Missionary Baptist church on July 13. Peace will host many of the last Saturdays of each month. Everyone can continue to use the Sign-Up Genius to volunteer.
The number of Peace volunteers & outside groups has dwindled over the years making it difficult to sustain meals twice a month. There’s a core group of 10-12 people from Peace who sign up regularly. The sign up genius will be amended to reflect changes.
The number of guests has declined significantly since covid. Tina from the Recovery church has handed out over 300 flyers & I have put up signs in area libraries & centers that assist low income & homeless families.
Anyone who has suggestions to reach more guests & increase Peace volunteers please contact me, Pam Jacobson (651-214-7701 or pjjacobson22@gmail.com)
