Join us from February 26-April 9 as we go on our Lenten journey towards Easter. We will be looking at the 7 \u2018I AM\u2019 statements that Jesus made in the book of John. These statements re-imagine how we understand the Christ that came, the Christ that resurrected from the dead, and the Christ that empowers us to continue the good work of love and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 2 | \u201cI am the vine\u201d | This line comes from John 15 where Jesus talks about how we are the branches and he is the vine. In order to produce fruit, we must be connected to the vine, the source, the resource. This passage uses the word ‘abide’ numerous times. Faith isn’t something we do periodically, it’s meant to be an always present part of who we are. How does this approach change us and change the way we show up in the world?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good Friday Service – <\/strong>Stations of the Cross<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, April 7th, we will be hosting a Good Friday service focused on the Stations of the Cross. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This service will include elements of prayer, responsive readings, music, and contemplative practices. Our hope is that we humbly and honestly pause to consider and be shaped by the sacrificial death of Jesus, the Christ. It is through death that new life is born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support Midwest Mission<\/strong> \u2013 Shampoo Needed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Midwest Mission<\/a> works with trusted nonprofits to aid those who need help in four main areas.  Disaster relief,  Education,  Health, and Micro Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will be sending health kits to both the Ukraine (due to the war with Russia), as well as to Turkey following the earthquakes that have devastated that area. Currently, the biggest need is for shampoo in 12-19oz bottles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a collection box located near the name-tag bulletin board in The Commons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
