Reconciliation means to remove the barriers that have separated people from the wholeness of relationship. Our hope and prayer is to truly be the Body of Christ, together in communion, reconciled to one another. If there are ways we can continue to remove barriers, we want to learn. Pride celebrations will be taking place on June 25th and 26th, including a UMC booth for reconciling congregations. So What Happened at Annual Conference?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Annual Conference was particularly eventful for Peace. On Tuesday night, Pastor Jason was commissioned as a Licensed Local Pastor. And on Wednesday afternoon, Pastor Gary was honored as a retiring clergy. Additionally, there were a handful of key pieces of legislation passed, including the increased role for a Racial Justice Organizer and the creation of a Storytelling Space to Begin LGBTQ+ Reconciliation.\u00a0Read all about this year\u2019s Annual Conference.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peace Community of Faith was privileged to host a concert by nationally known singer\/songwriter Bobby Jo Valentine on March 26th. Bobby Jo agreed to allow us to make a video of that concert<\/a>, which we are pleased to make available here<\/a>. The concert was both part of the congregation\u2019s celebration surrounding the retirement of Pastor Gary Walpole and a benefit for OutFront Minnesota. Through a freewill offering at the concert, almost $2000 was raised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reconciliation means to remove the barriers that have separated people from the wholeness of relationship. We acknowledge that the church has often failed to remove such barriers and has been the one to put barriers in the way. Our hope and prayer is to truly be the Body of Christ, together in communion, reconciled to one another. If there are ways we can continue to remove barriers, we want to learn. Pride celebrations will be taking place on June 25th and 26th, including a UMC booth for reconciling congregations. Annual Conference was particularly eventful for Peace. On Tuesday night, Pastor Jason was commissioned as a Licensed Local Pastor. And on Wednesday afternoon, Pastor Gary was honored as a retiring clergy. Additionally, there were a handful of key pieces of legislation passed, including the increased role for a Racial Justice Organizer and the creation of a Storytelling Space to Begin LGBTQ+ Reconciliation.\u00a0Read all about this year\u2019s Annual Conference.
