Northern Lights Chorale: A Time for Singing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sue Fried, a member of Peace Community of Faith, sings in the Northern Lights Chorale<\/a> and invites all to come and enjoy one or both of their spring concerts. The Chorale will present \u201cA Time For Singing,\u201d a collection of choral music ranging from the sacred genre to  popular show music, on the following two dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, April 23:  2:00 p.m.  at the Benson Great Hall on the campus of Bethel University (3939 Bethel Drive in St. Paul<\/strong>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, April 24:  3:00 p.m. at Messiah United Methodist Church in Plymouth (17805 County Road 6<\/strong>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have been working hard on this program since January and are very excited to bring you a wide variety of music that will be inspirational, challenging and entertaining.  Their goal is to have something in every concert that everyone attending will enjoy.  There is no admission charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s Electrifying! The Future of Public Transportation in the Twin Cities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Zoom in to Northeast Metro Climate Action\u2019s presentation on Monday, April 25 at 7 pm to hear Peter Lindstrom of the Metropolitan Council address this topic. Besides being on the Metro Council, Lindstrom has served as mayor of Falcon Heights and is currently a manager with Clean Energy Resource Teams at the University of Minnesota and works with cities to join and deepen their involvement in Minnesota GreenStep Cities. Help seniors in our community get their yards ready for summer! Northeast Youth & Family Services (NYFS) is currently recruiting volunteers, and Peace is organizing teams to help. Work will be conducted according to current COVID-19 safety protocols to protect both volunteers and seniors. Tasks may include raking leaves, mowing lawns, weeding, trimming and putting out lawn furniture. NYFS work is being planned for Saturdays, April 30th and May 7th<\/strong>, from 9 am to around noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chuck Monroe will lead the PUMC team on April 30th; Tim Fried will lead on May 7th. If you\u2019d like to help out on either date, please contact Chuck at\u00a0cnlmonroe@comcast.net<\/a><\/u>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twin Cities Bronze<\/a> is a performing ensemble specializing in the music and art of English handbells. Advanced ringers are selected to join this group by audition, and they rehearse weekly at Peace Community of Faith. Amy Maakestad will direct her final concert as their Artistic and Music Director here at Peace on Sunday afternoon, May 1, at 4 pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come enjoy an engaging program highlighting the energy, precision, and musicality of this ensemble. A free will offering will be taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Good Neighbor Center Tutoring and Mentoring program needs tutors!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We love working in small groups or individually with our young people and that takes a village! We\u2019re at 441 Rice Street in St. Paul (55103). We would love to have you, on your first night, come at 6 pm and stay until 8:30. We\u2019re here Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays all year! Our students range from kindergarten to college. In the six weeks since the Russian invasion began, the United Methodist Committee on Relief\u00a0(https:\/\/umcmission.org\/umcor\/ukraine\/<\/a><\/u><\/em>) has already received\u00a0more than $5 million<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for aid to displaced persons in Ukraine and refugees arriving in neighboring counties. UMCOR has so far distributed $2 million, helping to provide food, water, medicine, shelter, transportation and other services for those on the run. Northern Lights Chorale: A Time for Singing Sue Fried, a member of Peace Community of Faith, sings in the Northern Lights Chorale and invites all to come and enjoy one or both of their spring concerts. Northeast Youth & Family Services (NYFS) is currently recruiting volunteers, and Peace is organizing teams to help. Tasks may include raking leaves, mowing lawns, weeding, trimming and putting out lawn furniture. NYFS work is being planned for Saturdays, April 30th and May 7th, from 9 am to around noon.
