This week, the author of the gospel of Mark celebrates healing to the lowest, the smallest and the outcast, in the form of the hemorrhaging woman and Jairus\u2019 daughter. But most importantly, both women are healed in the context of their community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hemorrhaging woman \u2013 an outcast because of her illness and gender \u2013 is restored to health and the life of her community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jairus\u2019 daughter&nbsp;<strong>\u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>whose age and death have removed her from her community \u2013 is brought to life and restored to her family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Healings do not exist in a vacuum. The community of faith contributes, and healing is not complete until the individual is restored to the community.
