Christmas Stories
We all have Christmas stories that have influenced our lives at this time of year. The Christmas stories found in Matthew and Luke have also influenced our lives and the cultures around the world. For the four Saturdays before Christmas at 9 am you are invited to join in a conversation on the Christmas in our sacred stories and the Christmas we live in the twenty-first century. Take time to relax on Saturday mornings with Peace Conversations.

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY WORSHIP AT PEACE
The Inn – Housing the Holy

Beginning Sunday, November 28

During the Christmas holiday season Peace will be exploring how we as individuals and as a faith community can “House the Holy.” The pandemic has laid bare, and widened, economic disparity locally and globally. As we enter the Christmas holiday season, how can our lives become houses where the Holy will be born anew–offering respite, sustenance, and care, opening the doors ever wider to those seeking shelter from the onslaught of life? No one can do it all, but each can do something. During this Advent season we will hear prophets call us to care for ourselves, our neighbors and “make room in the inn,” the lonely and frightened spaces within us are filled with the light of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.

This coming Advent Sunday, we note that holiday meals take on special significance. In the Middle East gathering together for meals has always had a special significance.

SHARING OUR JOYS AND CONCERNS
In our pandemic-influenced world, many things have changed, but not our sense of community. We remain deeply connected even while we maintain a proper physical and social distance. We need to share news with one another. We long to know what is going on in each other’s lives. And we need a safe way to share our joys and concerns. For now, our safe way will be for you to share your joy or concern with Gary (text to 651-387-4095 or email gary@peaceumc.com) and also indicate your permission if you want him to share your news in Sunday worship, and/or with the Prayer Chain (about 25 people), and/or via the full Peace email group (about 175 people).
