Hello People of Peace!
It has come to my attention that potential spam calls and texts are being made with the names of people on our staff. Please know that if we ever ask you for money or assistance it would ALWAYS be through our normal giving channels (offering basket on Sundays or securely online).
When we have a special opportunity to raise support for a ministry (like donating gift cards), we would provide adequate notice and ways to conduct this through the church…and not directly into the hands of one of us.
If an emergency arises within our community, the church has funds to help meet those immediate needs. We would not directly ask anyone individually for an emergency need. (One of the spam text messages was asking for gift cards for sick people at a hospital.)
We are a generous and kind-hearted church. It’s one of the things that makes us such a hospitable community for those looking for a place to belong. Unfortunately, people try to take advantage of kindness and generosity.
