Sunday Preview (December 11, 2022)
Advent! | ‘A Light Has Come’ | Emmanuel, God with us. The name given to the Christ child. Many have seen Jesus as this divine exception…a more than human human. After all, Jesus is (as it says in Hebrews) ‘the fullness of God in human form’. But the scriptures also make it clear that while Jesus is ‘fully God’, Jesus is also ‘fully human’. There is an exceptionalism to Jesus. And yet, there is nothing exceptional about him at all. The INCARNATION is about God coming near. Maybe that’s what God has always been trying to do. Maybe that has always been the point. Maybe the divine is always coming near and it’s not God that’s been keeping distance, but us. What would it mean if we saw being human as moving towards the divine as God is already being born within?

Due to the busyness of this season (with our anniversary and staffing changes), we did not create a unique PEACE advent calendar. We hope to bring this back in years to come. But be on the lookout for some of the artistic and creative project videos that have been highlights of the advent calendar in future Tuesday News emails.
Christmas Eve at Peace!
Join us on Christmas Eve for a special carols and candles service. (The 4pm service will feature a few elements for those with younger children.)
Christmas Morning at Peace
Christmas day is on a Sunday this year! Join us in the Fellowship Hall for a time of good food and good company. Wear your favorite Christmas pajamas, because it’s still Christmas morning!
Winter Supply Drive for the Good Neighbor Center
Help support those who need some winter supplies by bringing items to PEACE.
Bags and gift cards are being provided by the can recycling fund. We need your help to stuff the bags full of winter supplies. The list of items is below:
- Socks – packs of 6 (for adults only)
- Warm Winter Gloves (for adults only)
- Toothbrush/ Toothpaste
- Shampoo/ Conditioner
- Body Lotion/ Bar Soap
Please bring these items to the church by Sunday, December 11th.
(There will be labeled bins near the name tag bulletin board in The Commons.)

Family Ministry Updates
Nursery and Children’s Church are available every Sunday morning.
Encore (middle and senior high school students) will take place on December 4th and 18th this month.
Family Game Nights | Returning in 2023!
We’ve loved hosting Family Game Nights all summer and fall. It’s been great to connect with one another and share good food and good fun. In December we have the Advent Dinner on December 11th and encourage families to sign-up for a great night. We will resume Family Game Nights in January…so keep an eye out for the next date!
