Sunday Preview (November 13, 2022)

Matthew 5:10 | This verse comes near the end of the Beatitudes and serves as a bookend to the first one – both have ‘for theirs is the kingdom of heaven’ at the end. What does it mean that the ‘kingdom of heaven’ is ours? What does this word ‘kingdom’ mean? Why does Jesus use it so often to describe the reality and movement of love and justice and grace that he came to announce? What does it mean for us to be part of this?

We will have a 4 PM Christmas Eve Service update coming soon!  Thanks for being involved and shaping our Peace community!

Nursery  | Sundays | During Service | Nursery

The nursery is open to families with little ones 0-4. There will be two rotating volunteers each week. All you have to do is sign your child(ren) in the Nursery.

Children’s Church | Sundays | During Service | Fellowship Hall

Children’s Church is for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Join us after the first hymn, Amanda and the volunteer(s) will take everyone back to Fellowship Hall. Once in the Fellowship Hall, Amanda will lead a short Bible lesson, then kids will go do art projects and talk about the lesson with a volunteer (two groups: K-2nd and 3rd-5th). After the art time, all the kids will come back together for some games and a snack before joining their family for Fellowship Time in the Commons.

Encore is Peace’s middle-school and high school group which meets on the 1st & 3rd Sundays from 7:00-8:30pm.  We will cover a variety of topics throughout the year and always welcome input on activities, topics, questions you have about faith, culture, politics…topics you think would be helpful for a progressive, socially minded, church youth group to talk about! Feel free to bring a friend, beverage or snack.

Family Game Nights | Sunday, November 13 | 5:00-7:00pm | Fellowship Hall

Everyone! Please join us for Family Game Night!  Our Family Game Night is an all-church, all community event! Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 13 in the Fellowship Hall.  It’s crockpot season!  For this one, bring a favorite dish to share and a board game! Peace will provide cocoa, tea, water & juice. We have giant scrabble, let’s see if we can get a tourney going!  We also plan on bringing in one of the monitors to have some football games or a movie on!. If it’s nice out, we can take advantage of this (so far) mild November and finish off the s’mores over a fire!
