I wanted you to know that Sharon Ruhnke will return to our keyboards on May 24 and July 5 while David Tidball takes some vacation.

Some tell me they read this but do not go the web site where much more news in being placed.  So I took this from the web posting this morning:
The Peace Church COSROW (Commission on the Status and Role of Women) group welcomes you to join in these upcoming 2009 events.  We would love to see new faces to enhance and enrich our group.  Call (651-482-1128) or email (carollee73@msn.com) Carol Beatty if you have any questions on these events.  Also, please give me your current email address if you want to be included in our email updates.
1)  Emma Norton Residence Birthday Party on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:00 pm.  We’re hosting the May birthday party (bringing dessert and party favors) for the 40 women staying at the Emma Norton Residence, 670 North Robert St. in St. Paul.  We plan to car pool from church that evening at 6:15 pm so please join us for the evening.  Call or email Carol Beatty or Pam Jacobson if you want more information.   Emma Norton Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, providing affordable transitional and permanent housing with support services to homeless women and their children in the Twin Cities area (Minneapolis and St. Paul) of Minnesota.
2)  Good Neighbor Meal on Saturday, June 27 at Berean Church.  Menu is still to be determined, but we’re looking for ideas and help that day.  Please mark your calendars and more details will follow.
3)  Peace Church Women’s Retreat, Oct. 2-4, 2009 at the ARC Retreat center just north of Cambridge, Mn.  Join us for a fun and enlightening weekend as we connect with each other and consider the Grace of Volunteering.  If you are considering attending this year, please let either Cindy Tidball or Carol Beatty know by June 1 so we can confirm our reservation with the ARC.


Here are some more graduates I learned about since last week

Our granddaughter, Jessica Leatherman, is graduating from Forest Lake High School.  She is planning to attend Concordia College in St Paul.  She would ultimately like to be a writer but wisely realizes that a degree in accounting might help her pay the way.

Debbi Korstad graduates May 23rd from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Finance.  She is employed by Digital River as an Accountant.
Paul West will be graduating from Mounds Park Academy and will attend the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota.

Laura Heurung graduated from UW Stout May 9, with a BA in Multimedia Design.

Robin Heurung  is graduating from Moundsview High School and will be attending the
University of North Dakota, Grand Forks in the fall.
